Zomato has announced that it plans to lay off 3% of staff nationwide.
The renowned food delivery company Zomato is planning to lay off 3% of its staff from the company. At present, the company has around 3800 employees. Zomato will be laying off around 100-120 employees with this confirmation.
This plan will take place considering the staff’s regular performance. Earlier in May 2020, this food ordering app laid off 500 staff due to the Covid-19 Pandemic which was around 13% of their overall staff capacity.
With this, there is a news report which says that Zomoto’s co-founder Mohit Gupta has quit his role in the organization with other two Rahul Ganjoo and Siddharth Jhawar.
All these resignations and laying off news comes just after the giant social media company Meta’s laying of 11000 employees, Meta public policy head quits and twitter’s employees are asked to work from the office only with 40 hours of work.
Looking at this circumstance, will it be difficult for the companies to survive with the such decision? With such market conditions, it seems like there is no job security for staff as well as for the company it will be a panic situation if the staff who are responsible and representative for major departments are resigning.
